Southeastern Massachusetts SER-Jobs For Progress, Inc. is an affiliate of SER-Jobs For Progress National, Inc. Throughout the years, SER-Jobs network of organizations has devoted itself to offering employment services, upgrading job skills and increasing business and economic opportunities for minority communities and other disadvantaged people. SER-Jobs in southeastern Massachusetts is a community-based organization that originally began as a school-to-work transition program in 1979, but has since grown to meet the changing needs of its community. Through the years, SER-Jobs has worked with community businesses, city and state agencies to bring dignity and esteem to the southeastern Massachusetts region.







Saint Vincent’s recently held its 14th Annual Mission Awards Celebration in recognition of four employees who have made a significant contribution to children, youth and families in their various roles within Saint Vincent’s. The four recipients, Jennifer Crossley, Kristen Dutra, Mary Gilligan, and Marguerite Steele were nominated by their peers for this once-in-a-lifetime achievement award. Mercy Sister and Saint Vincent’s Board Member, Catherine Donovan, RSM provided a reading. Most Reverend George W. Coleman, Bishop of the Diocese of Fall River, gave the Greeting for the celebration and, together with Saint Vincent’s Executive Director Jack Weldon presented the awards. Standing before a group of Saint Vincent’s staff, family, and friends who had gathered in the on-campus chapel, Mr. Weldon congratulated and thanked the honorees for their dedication and commitment to helping children and families in countless ways while fulfilling the Mission of Saint Vincent’s. On Sunday, August 21st, over 200 motorcycle enthusiasts – riders and passengers - joined Saint Vincent’s for the 6thAnnual Motorcycle Run raising over $20,000 to benefit children, youth and families. The 58-mile Motorcycle Run began at 10AM at Saint Vincent’s Fall River campus with an escort from the Fall River Police Department’s Motorcycle Division as well as additional support from the Freetown and Dartmouth Police Departments. Volunteer Road Guards from the Wicked Wild Weekend Warriors provided additional safety support at key intersections. The Motorcycle Run wound through the scenic back roads of Freetown to the shores of Dartmouth and ended back at Saint Vincent’s in Fall River.
