Fall River Residents Receive Portuguese Heritage Award

On Tuesday, June 2 at the Statehouse on Beacon Hill 16 residents of Massachusetts were honored with the Portuguese Heritage Award. Among them, three are residents of Fall River; Irene Orlando, Chair of the Boys & Girls Club Board of the Directors, Robert Martins of Robert's Tuxedo, and Manual Alves a long time volunteer of the Santo Christo Church. The Award was given to Portuguese-Americans' who have taken the time to serve and help their community.

Boys & Girls Club 1st Annual Fine Arts Exhibit

On Tuesday, February 2 at the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River will be have the First Annual Fine Arts Exhibit. It is art of a Boys & Girls Club National Program. All of the work that is to be featured is done by the members. From the exhibit, winners will be chosen to have their work send to the regional contest, with hopes of making it to the national contest. The art ranges from watercolor paintings, monochromatic drawings, multi-colored drawings, sculptures, and collages.
