The Diabetes Association

The mission of the Diabetes Association Inc. is to improve the health and well being of the communities that DAI serve by advancing diabetes prevention, early detection and disease management.The Diabetes Association Inc. holds a plethora of programs for adults, youth and families. With offices located at 170 Pleasant St in Fall River and 26 Caroline St in New Bedford, there is always someone to assist with any diabetes questions or concerns. Staff are also available for one on one consultations. 

 
Adult programs in Fall River include a Diabetes Support Group that meets every Wednesday, a Latino Support Group that meets monthly and community presentations. Adult programs in New Bedford include nutrition demos, exercise classes, diabetes information sessions and community presentations.
 
Youth programs include classroom presentations for both students and teachers, monthly teen nights, family nights, Family Information Sessions, Families Preventing Diabetes (a six week long program for middle school students and their families that features exercise and nutrition information), Adopt-a-School (a four week long program for elementary school students that features exercise and nutrition information), YESS (Youth Exercise/Sports Support), which meets every other Saturday at HealthTrax, located at 250 Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth, MA, from 9-11 and Camp Kyle, our summer day camp for children with diabetes, their siblings and friends, located at beautiful Camp Buxton in Rehoboth, MA.
