People, Incorporated is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Ramos as the Program Director for the Diabetes Association of Massachusetts.
Under the direction of the Family Advocacy and Community Education division of People, Incorporated, Michael will assist with the development of goals to increase youth programming, family education, and expand the assistance of the Diabetes Association of MA to the newly diagnosed clients within our community.
Previous to his employment with People, Incorporated, Mr. Ramos, a resident of Fall River, held the position of Wellness Coordinator for the City of Fall River. In that position, he was responsible for enhancing nutrition and fitness resources for adults and children by working with existing organizations citywide. Additionally, Michael has worked to establish a Healthy Dining program that encourages city restaurants to offer healthy menu choices, he has established walking routes and bike paths throughout the city and more recently has served as the Assistant Director of Community Affairs for the District Attorney’s office. Michael attended both Bristol Community College and UMass Dartmouth and continues his studies at Lesley University. Michael was the previous Chair for the BOLD Coalition, served on the Board of Directors for the Community Development Recreation Center, the American Heart Association, Teens Helping Teens, and STARR.
