Opportunity Fair

The Bristol Workforce Investment Board and B.M.C. Durfee High School are holding the 4th Annual Opportunity Fair, Thursday, May 20 ,2010 at the B.M.C. Durfee High School- Luke Urban Field House. Graduating seniors will be able to explore the various opportunities local trade, technical schools and two year colleges have for students to further their education and gain the training necessary to compete in today’s job market. Trade Unions and local businesses will also be on hand to provide students with information on available apprenticeship opportunities. This fair is designed to provide opportunities for graduating seniors (at Durfee) who plan to attend a local college but may still need to enhance skills through short-term occupational training in order to secure part-time or full-time employment, as well as for those who have not finalized their plans for after graduation.

This fair is also an opportunity for training providers to identify candidates for upcoming educational programs, as well as for employers/trade unions to identify candidates for apprenticeships.

If you are a training provider or employer who is interested in attending this fair, please contact Kate Politano at the Bristol WIB 508-675-1165 or kpolitano@detma.org.
