Salary: $16.06/hr

Hours: Part-time, temporary 20 hours per week for 35 weeks of the school year (paid bi-weekly)

UMass Extension Nutrition Education Program is looking for 2 motivated educators to be a part of our dynamic team education mostly children in Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton Public Schools.

The educators work with families who receive or are eligible to receive SNAP benefits as part of the Family Nutrition Program. As part of our team of nutrition educators, travel to various school sites to work with youth ages 5-12 is the most common assignment. Educators teach the basics of nutritin and maintaining good health through hands-on nutrition education activities.

Qualifications required at hire:

  • Access to an automobile is required ( mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others both youth and adult
  • Bachelor degree preferred but at minimum candidate must have completed some college level coursework in nutrition and/or education
  • Ability to lift and carry nutrition education materials to program sites
