The Holiday Spirit Floats into Fall River

This Saturday, December 5, will mark the 25th annual Children's Christmas Parade in Fall River. The parade steps-off at 12:30 from Kennedy Park, goes down Main Street and ends in front of City Hall. Following the parade at 2:30 there will be caroling, which will conclude at 4:30. The official lighting of the tree at Government Center will begin at 4:30. Half of Cash Street will be closed to allow for singing and dancing in the streets. Most business along Pleasant Street, from Eastern Avenue to Flint Plaza will be participating in a window display contest, with the winner receiving a cash prize; that will begin at 7:30. Also on Saturday pet owner will be able to get pictures of their pets with Santa from 9am to 2pm at the Village Studio. The cost will be $5 and proceeds will go to the Animal Rescue League. This years parade is shaping up to out do any previous parade this city has ever had. Santa will be arriving at Kennedy Park via helicopter, a 60-foot inflatable Big Bird, along with 4 other inflatables. At 11am, before the parade at the old Cherry and Webb building there will be letter writing to Santa. It is a great event to go to with your family and get into the holiday spirit.
