12th Annual Legislative Breakfast

October 21st will mark the 12th Annual Legislative Breakfast and in anticipation of National Food Day on October 24th, a day that seeks to bring together people from all walks of life to push for healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable way, we are very excited to welcome Chef Tony Geraci, nationally recognized food service consultant and founder of the Farm -to-Schools movement, as our keynote speaker. 

We encourage all who attend this Legislative Breakfast to bring with them a donation of fresh fruit which will in turn be donated to area food pantries, all of which are in desperate need of our assistance.

What is the 100 Best Communities competition?

The 100 Best Communities for Young People presented by ING is an annual competition,now in its fifth cycle, that rewards and recognizes communities making extraordinary efforts to reduce dropout rates and provide outstanding services and supports to their youth. These communities, while not without their own challenges to overcome, have demonstrated a significant and lasting commitment to their youth for which they deserve to be recognized and commended.

Who is your Hero of Peace?

The Peace by Piece Steering Committee seeks nominations from the public for its Heroes of Peace Award. At the Annual Fall River National Night Out, the committee will acknowledge and publicly thank award recipients.

Throughout Fall River, there are many people and groups who continuously provide a positive message of hope and inspiration. They encourage positive change through their examples of excellence.

Before you start filling up your summer calendar with barbeques and birthday parties, check out MyFallRiver's community calendar. In the next few months there will be Healthy celebrations, fundraisers, clean-ups, and Summer Kickoff after Summer Kickoff.   If you have an event coming up that you want everyone to know about, post it on the calendar. If you see an event that you think someone else may really like, pass it on!
