Learn More about Managing Diabetes at Saint Anne's Hospital's "Decoding Diabetes" Health Fair

Wednesday, June 22nd Saint Anne's Hospital invites you to learn about managing diabetes and about diabetes prevention. This free health fair will feature activities and presentations (in both English and Portuguese) by diabetes experts. Presentations will cover healthy eating, skin care, diabetes-friendly refreshments, equipment demonstrations, and financial services counseling. 

The fair will include representatives from related health and diabetes care programs, services and vendors, including:

Saint Anne's Hospital Sleep Center and Stroke Services, Pfizer, Medtronic, Diabetes Association, BMC Healthnet Plan, CeltiCare, Commission for the Blind,
Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library.

Jack Rua Camp for Children with Diabetes

The Jack Rua Camp for Children with Diabetes is gearing up for registration time!

Camp Jack is for youth with diabetes ages 5-14, their siblings and friends. 

Camp will run from July 11 - August 19th, Monday through Friday. We a registered nurse on site at all times and staff trained in diabetes management, First Aid/CPR.

Free Classes Provide Support for People with Diabetes

Are you living with diabetes or newly diagnosed? Are you a caregiver of someone with diabetes? Or are you just interested in learning more about healthy living? The Diabetes Association will hold free classes every Wednesday on topics from healthy cooking to skin care and more. Classes are held every Wednesday from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at the Diabetes Association.

People, Incorporated is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Ramos as the Program Director for the Diabetes Association of Massachusetts.
 
Under the direction of the Family Advocacy and Community Education division of People, Incorporated, Michael will assist with the development of goals to increase youth programming, family education, and expand the assistance of the Diabetes Association of MA to the newly diagnosed clients within our community. 

Diabetes Association Has a New Program Director!

 People, incorporated is pleased to announce the appointment of Candice Foster as the program director for the Diabetes Association of Massachusetts.

In her last position, Candice was the Associate Executive Director of the Northwest Connecticut YMCA where she was involved in program development, childcare, aquatics, and camp.  Candice was the previous Director for the town of Wareham Recreation Department and currently works as a part-time paramedic for the Town of Wareham.
