Arts United Fall River is currently seeking nominations for their President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Board of Directors. Arts United Fall River is a non-profit organization within the city of Fall River that supports and encourages artists of Fall River. To nominate someone, you must send a resume and letter to Arts United, PO Box 1005, Fall River, MA 02722. The deadline is March 1, 2010. Elections will take place at the March 17 meeting at the Fall River Public Library.

Boys & Girls Club 1st Annual Fine Arts Exhibit

On Tuesday, February 2 at the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River will be have the First Annual Fine Arts Exhibit. It is art of a Boys & Girls Club National Program. All of the work that is to be featured is done by the members. From the exhibit, winners will be chosen to have their work send to the regional contest, with hopes of making it to the national contest. The art ranges from watercolor paintings, monochromatic drawings, multi-colored drawings, sculptures, and collages.

Youth Arts Center

Just returned from an organizing meeting for a new youth arts center.  The interim planning group chose the name YEAH!  Youth experiencing artistic hope!  The planning group grew out of a BOLD initiative to spark more options for youth to participate in positive activities.  An out of school arts center was missing in the array of youth activities available to Fall River teens.  The group is working on finding a temporary site to get started, forming
